The Old House at Home is situated in the rural village of Chidham, on a
peninsular which reaches into the beautiful Chichester Harbour, designated an area of outstanding natural beauty and which boasts some of the most celebrated coastal walks in Southern England. Emsworth is to the west; to the east is Bosham, the historic City of Chichester and the Goodwood Estate.
We had a great evening lovely landlady and landlord, great food great service worth a visit.
What a great evening.Lovely food, great staff and some great ales and whiskies.
We had a Lovely evening meal in this “Olde Worlde Pub” with generous portions(my wife was unable to eat all her portion of salmon) served by very friendly staff. They actually have plenty of meat in the steak and ale pie as well. We were only in the area for the weekend and it was recommended to us as the best place to eat in the area on a Sunday evening, by our host, Kevin, at The Boathouse Bosham, which is an excellent B&B -clean, a very comfortable bed (although I had to go on Safari to cuddle my wife in the Super King-sized bed) and Lorainne cooks a delicious breakfast. We were needing a break, and came home refreshed after an enjoyable weekend. Pat & Bryan Johnson, Bicester,Oxfordshire.

Very friendly 17th Century little pub off the beaten track in Chidham. The Licensees are very welcoming and have a very hands on approach front of house always leading by example.
The staff tend to be more ‘mature’ than is usual in a Gastro Pub which tends to result in unflappable service even at the busiest times.
Food is a little more expensive than most of the same type of establishments in the area but The Old House at Home is definitely one of those pubs that’s worth the ‘little extra’.
We’re sure this pub will continue to offer great food with a welcoming ambience while John & Jane are at the helm. Oh, and one other thing… probably serves the best beer in the area.
